Dear Blog Friends,
Thank you for accessing our Blog, bibleresourceman. We are new as we mentioned. However we have put up a number of new excellent articles. We plan to make a list of these articles with a comment on the basic substance of each of them. That should be of help to you that are looking for specific information.
As you know our purpose and goal is to ASSIST BELIEVERS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW AND LIFESTYLE. This will assist you in evaluating everything in your life in the light of God’s Holy Word.
We hope you learn of the difference between Eternal Salvation and Rewards for faithful service. One is totally based on grace alone thru faith alone based only on the merits of Jesus Christ death for sin on the Cross and His resurrection from the dead. The rewards are based on our faithful service for Jesus Christ and is based on our faithful service and work for HIM. It is not just the amount of works, but the attitude and quality of the works performed. Also it most be noted that God even supplies all that is necessary for us to perform these good works. We can only do this properly by walking in the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit on a regular basis.
You may not be aware of it, but it appears from Holy Scripture that Jesus Christ himself lived his total life in the power of the Holy Spirit, not relieving on His deity or exercising the prerogatives of His deity. Look at John 3:34 where it appears to say this. He did not give up his deity but simply refused to exercise his divine nature and attributes but chose to only be lead and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Because of this He can be a perfect model and example for us and his followers.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. John 3:34 (KJV)
Jesus according to this verse appears to have always been full of the Holy Spirit during the time of his ministry. The Holy Spirit was given to him without measure, that is without limitation. We many times have limitation. However, Jesus Christ becomes the perfect human example to us for he lived his life solely under the power and authority of God. The is the limitation which is mentioned in the great kenosis passage in Philippians 2.
who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, 8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Phil 2:6-8 (ESV)
Paul said to the Corintians to follow him as he followed Christ. We can follow leaders only as they model the person of Christ.
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 1 Cor 11:1 (KJV)
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Eph 5:1-2 (KJV)
May God bless your today and forever!
