The Seven Sign-Miracles of the Gospel of John

John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

The Greek word for sign is “seimos” from which we get sign, signify, signification, seismology etc.    Seismology is the science that studies the earthquakes.   Remember the recent earthquake near Ottawa,Illinois which registered 4.5 on the Richter scale.

Greek:4592. semeion, say-mi’-on; neut. of a presumed der. of the base of Grk;4591; an indication, espec. cer. or supernat.:-miracle, sign, token, wonder.
