03 Semantic Deception – The renaming Game!

Semantic Deception – The renaming Game!

Within the last 30 to 50 years our current culture has been in a renaming game.  This I have labeled “Semantic Deception”.  There are literally hundreds of these creative renamings.   Almost all of which are designed to remove and manipulate the “odium, negative, and sinful nature” of the act or practice.

When I first heard about the name change of Campus Crusade for Christ to CRU, I had questions about the wisdom of this.  While I believe what Jesus said, ” Be wise as serpents, but harmless as doves” I do not believe that this name change will actually further the purpose of God.  I do know that Muslims use the idea of “Crusades” as in the Crusades by Roman Catholics in the Middle ages to subvert the real purpose & Mission of Campus Crusade for Christ.  But I still do not believe that this is an adequate justification for the name change.  I have found that many people are willing to talk about God but never want to talk about Jesus.  The use of “God” can be a rather bland nondescript word to many people.  It has confusing content (in our current age) to those who have not been educated in Christianity.  For years I have probably sinned in this area.   However, one might start out discussing God and then move on to Jesus Christ and a clearer understanding of who Jesus is and what He came to do.  This political correctnesss has also poped up in the renaming of many churches.   For instance, many Baptist churches have renamed their churches to ??????Community Church to take out the name Baptist, Methodist, etc.  This they have done in order to appear more inclusive and open.

Many people actually chose to pretend to be offend when in actuality they are just trying to subvert and oppose those who are trying to explain the truth of the Good News (Gospel) to them.  The Good News is that Jesus paid for all sin and those who believe in the work of Jesus Christ receive Eternal Life immediately when they believe.  We do not receive Eternal Life after we die but immediately in this life when we believe.  Note: Most of the passages in Scripture are in the present tense regarding believing and receiving Eternal life.  Below is just one example.

36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”  John 3:36 (NKJV)

The unbeliever is already under the judgment of God.  He does not have to wait until he dies to find out, he just needs to read Scripture.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:18 (NKJV)

24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

 John 5:24 (NKJV)

Unfortunately, many if not most Christians and unbelievers are ignorant of this fact.  You will find out some good information on our Blogsite!                                                              https://bibleresourceman.wordpress.com/
